Municipal elections are coming up on October 26th. You will have the opportunity to cast your vote for mayor, city councillor and school trustee. Although the TDSB is currently under supervision, and Trustees are not currently allowed to act in their role, we believe in the democratic process and trust that Trustees will be re-instated at some point. As such, we encourage all eligible voters to carefully consider who would be the best choice for school trustee in the upcoming elections.
Northern is located in the new Ward 8. Our parent community votes in more wards given the school’s proximity to the ward boundary. You can access candidate lists for all wards on the City of Toronto Municipal Elections Website.
To facilitate the decision making process, Northern School Council sent a list of questions to all candidates in wards 6, 7 and 8 (the wards closest to Northern). Note that not all candidates have provided contact information on the Municipal Elections Website, so we are not yet able to contact everyone. We encourage all candidates to ensure that their information is up to date on that site.
